A Special Anniversary

image Fifteen years ago today—December 11, 1994—a group of people began a special journey together.  They agreed together that they would be faithful to one another and to God in ministry together and began Community Baptist Church

These fifteen years have been adventurous and meaningful to all who have been a part of this history.

In the early months this small group met in homes.  Then during the Summer they met in the Green Valley Baptist Association Building.  The building did not have enough space for children’s Sunday School classes so the children met outside under the trees.  Amazingly, it never rained on a Sunday all that summer.

Their next location was a storefront in Downtown Henderson.  Here the church had a place to call home and to congeal as a congregation.  Then they built the beautiful multifunctional building at 1026 Pebble Creek Drive in which we now worship, play and serve.

Community Baptist has the reputation in town of being appropriately named.  It is strongly connected with our community and is eager to serve the needs of others.  Community Baptist has a strong emphasis on ministry to those in need and a loving spirit in which everyone is acceptable and accepted who seeks fellowship with our church.

Come help us celebrate our 15th anniversary this Sunday at 10:45 a.m.  We will share in worship together.  Then we will enjoy a meal,  a time of remembrance and looking forward to the next 15 years.  Tim Hobbs, Pastor
